Norwegian (NCL) Sky at Taino Bay, Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic
Taino Bay is a convenient short walk from where cruise ships dock, a captive little Caribbean-flavored tourist trap of shopping, amusements and grub. We had other plans, and first off the ship, hustled through this maze of shops and such to where taxis awaited. We headed straight for Playa Dorada, or rather the locals end of that vast beach, Playa del Pueblito...
From the Sirius Suite's veranda at ship's stern, It was impossible to miss Sunset when sailing east, nor sunrise when sailing west. For eastbound sunrises and Westbound sunsets, I scooted across 900 feet of the 10th deck to photograph from the Spinnaker observation deck at the bow. For the 10 days, most all of those moments were lovely.
